im planning on getting a tattoo. i would really like a butterfly tattoo but relatively small, does anyone know where a good place would be to get it on my body, preferably not my wrists or hands.
also have any ideas what are some other good small tattoos for girls?

I’m not quite sure what you mean by ‘small’. Small butterflies will look good in many areas of the body. . Something to consider when getting smaller tattoos – wanting a larger tattoo in that area later, or adding smaller tattoos to that area in the future. Your profession may play a deciding factor as well.
The shoulder, ribcage, lower back, chest, lower abdomen, buttocks, thigh, lower leg, and top of foot… these are common areas my female clients ask for butterflies.
As far as small tattoos for females – anything that does not contain an extreme amount of detail, once again depending on how small you are referring too.
Stars, hearts, skulls, dragonflies…the list could go on for a while. Astrological symbols do well as ‘small’ tattoos, as well.
Find something that has some meaning for you.
On the part of your chest where your heart is.
I got a small butterfly on my ankle.. it looks great.
I’ve also got a spiral/filigree design on my back- going down from my left shoulder.
Have a look in your tattoo shops books for ideas but I wouldn’t get one exactly the same as what is in the book as I’m sure they are very familiar to what others will have so yeah just look around, see what you like, get refrences and take them with you when you make an appointment.
Even if you are having a small tattoo look at different butterfly types =]
