I want this butterfly tattoo (the one on the far left of the picture) on my hand, kind of like the spot where Khole Kardashian got her husband’s initials. I want it a little bit smaller and a little further up my hand though (not so much in the web of my hand).

Serious answers please. I know it’ll hurt and I’ll prolly take advil before I go, but I just want to know if anyone has any personal experiences or advice they’d like to share.

Personally, Tattoos don’t hurt me too bad, I have 5 and I have one on my hand. It was very quick, and one of the least painful ones I have gotten. Nothing compared to your foot! So anyways, yeah advil should be fine and if you are too nervous maybe get some numbing cream. But thats not the best thing for a tattoo.
Hope I helped.
It shouldn’t hurt at all. There are no bones there and it’s all skin that is exposed to sun an use every day so that means that more than likely, you won’t feel that much pain. This would probably take about 10-15 minutes if that. I suggest you do what I do every time I get a tattoo. Bring your ipod and listen to your favorite music that gets you pumped while you are doing it. Trust me, it’ll be over before you know it. Tattoo pain, for me anyway, is like a repetitive scratching of the same spot. Being that you won’t get it filled with color since it is just an outline it shouldn’t bother you that much at all.
By the way, I think that would look beautiful. Very delicate =)
It won’t hurt that bad, it’s not on the bone, spine, or feet.
But…since it’s on your hand it will hurt a little.
Hand tattoos are a VERY bad idea, even McDonald’s won’t hire you with such a visible tattoo. They also tend to age badly since they are constantly exposed to UV light (which will destroy a tattoo in a very short time) and since you use your hands so much the cellular turn over is high so that will also age it faster. Your hands are actually very sensitive (lot of nerve endings there) so yes, it’s going to hurt to some degree. As for the design itself, you will be the 50 millionth girl in your state alone with a butterfly tattoo, there is no originality in it whatsoever.
