It is really a personal choice. as is with the design I do agree that Roses, Hearts & butterflys are way over done !! This being said I do Have a Dragonfly on my lower back ( or Tramp Stamp if you must ) and wise ass people always comment on there is another Butterfly Tattoo. So be prepared...... It's your Body Choose wisley you will have it a Loooong Time Back, Ankle, hip or shoulder always works for a first Tattoo. If you plan on having kids stay away from your hip or lower abdomen. It will end up looking like a butterfly that hit a windshield. I have a tribal sun on my hip that looks like a black blah since I had my daughter. My back has been my favorite area for ink. I have a sun on my ankle that was covering a scar and now if I want to wear a dress(yuck,but just in case I do at work) I have to find all sorts of ways to hide it. So put some serious thought into placement, but put is where ever YOU want it as long as your happy with it is all that matters. My butterfly sits on my lower back, I think she's happy there.
